Couldn't deliver as expected, admit UCPN-M ministers
KATHMANDU: Ministers representing the UCPN-Maoist in the current coalition government have admitted that they could not deliver in the government as the party had expected.
Speaking at a standing committee meeting of the party in the Capital today, Minister for Agricultural Development Haribol Prasad Gajurel, Minister for Education Giriraj Mani Pokharel and Minister for Forest and Soil Conservation Agni Prasad Sapkota admitted that they could not work as well as they should have done, according to party's Vice-Chairman Narayan Kaji Shrestha.
"As the ministers themselves are not satisfied with their performance," Shrestha told THT Online over phone after the meeting, "The party also viewed that it was not satisfied with them and they should improve their performance."
Deputy Prime Minister and Energy Minister Top Bahadur Rayamajhi and Home Minister Shakti Basnet had briefed the meeting on the works carried out by their respective ministries on Tuesday.
As some ministers are yet to speak, the meeting would continue on Thursday morning, according to Shrestha.
Party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal had invited ministers representing the party to the standing committee meeting to discuss the activities being carried out by their respective ministries.
