CPN-UML accuses govt of 'unbalanced diplomacy'
KATHMANDU: The main opposition CPN-UML on Sunday commented that the government was practising 'imbalanced diplomacy'.
Speaking at the Parliament meeting today, lawmaker Rajan Bhattarai said the government was making inappropriate connections between internal issues and international affairs, thereby jeopardising the diplomatic balance.
Bhattarai, who is also known as a foreign affairs expert, also demanded that Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal clarify on the issue at the House at the earliest.
Meanwhile, Nepal Workers and Peasants Party lawmaker Anuradha Thapa Magar said the government's failure to ensure Chinese President Xi Jinping's Nepal visit would leave long-term impacts here.
Speaking at the meeting, Nepali Congress lawmaker Dhanaraj Gurung said the next Constitution amendment should not incorporate the Hindi language as a language used in government administration, arguing it would be a disrespect to the nationality.
Lawmakers of various parties had drawn the government's attention towards various contemporary issues.
