Dalit bodies to organise two-day meet

Kathmandu, June 14:

Eighteen dalit organisations are organising a two-day-long National Citizen Assembly to discuss the module of a new Nepal here from June 16.

“Various communities have been organising strikes, but we have decided to sort out the agendas of Dalit communities through intense brainstorming and create pressure on political parties to consider those agendas for a new Nepal,” Moti Lal Nepali, president of the Dalit NGO Federation Nepal said today.

According to the organisers, some 2,000 representatives from across the world will be taking part in the assembly that is scheduled to be addressed by top leaders of the eight parties.

Nepali said a team of dalit activists and experts are arriving here soon to share their experiences.
