'Delhi worried over anti-Indian sentiments in Nepal'

KATHMANDU: Nepal's Ambassador to India, Deep Kumar Upadhyaya, on Thursday said India was worried over growing anti-Indian sentiments in Nepal.

Speaking at an interaction in the Capital today, Upadhyaya, who is currently in Kathmandu, said everyone should take initiatives to mend the soured ties between two nations.

The Ambassador shared that his Delhi stay so far was not pleasant as he could not help the Nepal-India relationship rebuild after it came to a historical low in the aftermath of the promulgation of Constitution here.

"India has realised that the uneven relationship between two nations does not benefit anyone," Upadhyaya said, claiming that India considered Nepal as one of its family members and close friendly neighbours.

Upadhyaya was hopeful that the obstructions at the Nepal-India border points would get lifted soon.
