Deuba accuses govt of monopoly in justice, envoy nominations

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has blamed the government for imposing monopoly while recommending Supreme Court justices and ambassadors.

In a programme organised by the Tej-Tirtha Trust here in the Capital today, President Deuba objected that the government did not consult the main opposition party in this regard.

He added that the NC would work to enforce the Constitution rather than running the government.

Similarly, NC leader Krishna Prasad Sitaula said that his party would take the leading role to enforce the Constitution. He stressed the all-party unity for stability.

Speaking at the same function, lawmaker Bhimsen Das Pradhan opined for implementing the Constitution by assimilating feelings of all people from hills, mountains and plains.

On the occasion, the award set up by the Trust was provided to Amnesty International, Nepal chapter. The award carries a purse of Rs 100,000.
