Dr Devkota flown to home district and back

KATHMANDU: Senior neurosurgeon Dr Upendra Devkota was flown to his home district, Gorkha, in a chartered helicopter today.

Dr Devkota, who is diagnosed with bile duct cancer, and is currently being treated at the Neuro Hospital, had expressed his wish to rest for a while at his ancestral home and  drink water from the nearby spout,the sisnedhara.

Devkota's family members and doctors involved in his treatment accompanied him to Gorkha.

He was brought back to Kathmandu on the same day.

On Friday night, disturbing rumours regarding Dr Devkota's health had spread which was later refuted by his family through a press statement.
