Drug peddlers held from Kathmandu
KATHMANDU: Police have arrested five persons for their alleged involvement in drug peddling in Kathmandu Valley, on Monday.
Three of them were arrested along with some pharmaceutical drugs by a police team deployed from the Metropolitan Police Circle Swayambhu acting on a tip-off about drug dealing at Annapurna Chok in KMC-15.
The arrestees have been identified as Bikas Bista (20) of Ranijhoda-4, Jhapa district; Uddav Paudel (22) of Bidur-6, Nuwakot district; and Karma Sherpa (30) of Thulo Bharyang in Kathmandu. They were nabbed with 49 ampoules of diazepam, nephron and phenergan each.
Similarly, Suman Moktan (41) of Makawanpur was arrested with one kg hashish. Further investigation into him further led police to nab Shyam Tamang (35) of Makawanpur district residing in Balkhu. Tamang was arrested with around one more kilogram of hashish.
Police said they are investigating into the case.
