KATHMANDU: Police on Sunday said they arrested two people with foreign currencies from the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA).

The 34-year-old Anil Yonjan (Passport number 1994450) and the 22-year-old Ayush Chhetri (Passport number 05647881) were arrested from the TIA in possession of foreign currencies including USD 64,000, UAE Dirham 16,620 and Qatari Riyal 5,500.

Police said the duo were travelling to Sharjah of UAE to Kathmandu on an Air Arabia flight.

Investigation into the case is underway, police said.
