Dutch award for Dr Maskey

Kathmandu, May 6:

The Golden Ark Foundation of the Netherlands has honoured Dr Tirtha Man Maskey, director general of Department of National Parks and Wildlife Conservation, with the Order of the Golden Ark.

According to a press statement, Prince Bernard of the Netherlands will decorate Dr Maskey amid a special function on May 7 at Soestdiijk Palace, the Netherlands. The Order of the Golden Ark was established in 1971 by Prince Bernhard to honour persons involved in the conservation of nature.

Dr Maskey, who received his PhD from the University of Florida, has worked in various capacities at the Ministry of Forests and Soil Conservation for over 30 years.

He is slated to share his experiences about nature conservation in Nepal during the special award programme.
