UML's Sthapit trails
KATHMANDU, MAY 14
The Election Commission of Nepal has updated voters with the preliminary count of votes for Kathmandu Metropolitan City polls.
According to the first official update issued since the beginning of counting process, independent candidate Balen Shah is leading the race with 402 votes.
Shah has been maintaining a lead since the early stages of vote count, which started at around 9:30 am today.

Likewise, CPN-UML's Keshav Sthapit is trailing behind with 319 votes.
Nepali Congress' candidate Srijana Singh has been left quite behind in the race, as she has garnered 202 votes thus far.
Another independent candidate Suman Sayami has received 64 votes while Rastriya Prajatantra Party's Madan Das Shrestha and Bibeksheel Sajha's Samikshya Baskota have received 53 and 13 votes, respectively.
The votes of wards 1, 2, 3, 4 and 32 are being counted at the moment.
