EC urges all to lend support for impartial and fair elections

KATHMANDU: Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Ayodhee Prasad Yadav has urged the representatives of the civil society and non-governmental organisations to play fair and transparent role in the upcoming elections rather than taking side of any political party.

In an interaction with the representatives of civil society and NGOs here today, CEC Yadav urged them to follow the election code of conduct.

He further opined for using the resources to educate the voters instead of misusing the funds.

Similarly, Election Commissioner Ila Sharma and Secretary at the commission Gopinath Mainali had also stressed the role of civil society and NGOs to make the election impartial and transparent.

A statistics was released that there are 254 INGOs and 39,662 NGOs registered in the country.
