KATHMANDU, APRIL 20

Minister for Finance Janardan Sharma is facing all-round pressure to resign after Nepal Rastra Bank Governor Maha Prasad Adhikari returned to his work following Supreme Court's stay order on his suspension.

Sharma, was constantly under fire from all quarters after the government, on his recommendation, decided to conduct a probe into various allegations levelled against the chief of central bank of the country, thus leading to the latter's suspension.

Many from the opposition, as well as ruling alliance have now raised question over his moral obligation to call it quits in the wake of recent developments.

Furthermore, General Secretary of Nepali Congress Bishwa Prakash Sharma publicly indicated that it would be ethical on Finance Minister's part to resign, by means of an anecdote from the past.

Meanwhile, Governor Adhikari was welcomed by NRB officials today as he returned to resume his duties.
