KATHMANDU: Police on Sunday confiscated 428 pieces of firecrackers from a Kakadbhitta-Kathmandu bus during a routine security check at Naagdhunga of Kathmandu.

The contraband was seized from Khem Sapkota (30) travelling to Kathmandu on the passenger bus (Na 7 Kha 934), police said.

While Tihar, the festival of colours and lights, is just around the corner, police have intensified a crackdown on illegal trade of firecrackers in Kathmandu Valley of late.
