KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress leader Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar has been appointed as party's Deputy Parliamentary Party leader today.

NC President and Parliamentary Party leader Sher Bahadur Deuba appointed Gachchhadar as the deputy PP leader. Earlier on Monday, Deuba was elected as the party's Parliamentary Party (PP) leader .

Gachchhadar's party, Nepal Democratic Forum merged into the Nepali Congress right before the Federal Parliament and Provincial elections. The decision was made after the CPN-UML, Maoist Centre and other fringe parties announced the formation of the left-alliance.

Gachchhadar was a Nepali Congress leader prior to his exit from the party to join the then Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (MJF). He later left MJF to form his own party, Nepal Democratic Forum.
