KATHMANDU, OCOTBER 9

Amid growing frustration among people for not arresting ousted prime minister and CPN-UML Chair KP Sharma Oli and holding him accountable, exactly one month after being overthrown by the Gen Z movement, the CPN-UML has expressed its serious concerns about the current government leadership and the political trajectory following the Gen Z movement from Gundu in Bhaktapur.

CPN-UML has also made it clear that it will demonstrate in the streets against the interim government and its actions.

Oli, who was having internal discussions with party leaders after being under the Nepali Army's protection for ten days, delivered an orthodox, politically sarcastic speech from the stage today. He has stated that he will reject the current government, the inquiry commission established by the government, the dissolution of parliament, and the suspension of his passport. Additionally, on Saturday, the CPN-UML will show off its strength by holding a motorbike rally in Kathmandu. Mahesh Basnet, a member of the politburo, announced at the same event that the Youth Association would be organising a rally.

Oli expressed his views at a party-organised event in Gundu, Bhaktapur, and declared his complete rejection of the commission formed to investigate the Gen Z movement.

Police have already forwarded a complaint filed by the families of the deceased in the Gen Z movement to this commission, claiming that Oli should face charges for crimes against humanity.

Oli, who claimed that the current government was not formed with the intention of holding elections, also stated that they would not wait until March 5 to advance the call for parliament's restoration.

"It's time for us to proceed. Nepali people will create a storm of movement," he said. "They are merely pretending to form a commission of people who believe KP Oli should be arrested and imprisoned, investigate and submit a report, and then proceed based on that report. Such dramas are unacceptable to the CPN-UML."

Following Oli's statements, Gen Z leaders have taken a toll on Oli, calling him arrogant, cruel and bloodthirsty. Some have even termed him a 'rabid leader'. Purushotam Yadav, a Gen Z leader speaking with THT said, "At least people should recognise the true colours of KP Oli. Even after the blood on his hands of 80 innocent youth, he acts and remains arrogant as if nothing has happened in the country, utterly disregarding Gen Z's martyrdom. He must be booked for a crime he has committed."

"Nakkhu (prison) is waiting for you, KP Oli," wrote Gen Z leader Rakshya Bam on her social media handle. "It was heard that PM Oli, who dissolved the parliament last time, had invited singers to Baluwatar in the evening and listened to songs. At a time when the country was in the grappling of the COVID-19 pandemic and corruption, he was dancing on corpses. And the next day, he went from Baluwatar to Bardali to wave his hand. This time, Oli, who was forced to flee from Baluwatar by hiding and begging for a helicopter rescue, did not even have Bardali left."

Stating in her post that in a country plagued by corruption everywhere, the prime minister who ordered the shooting at the peaceful youth who came to the streets with their voices, seeking good governance and accountability to ensure their future, has this time taken refuge in Gundu among gangsters. "Just like the saying 'You can fool some people sometimes, but you can't fool all people all the time', the crowd that said 'I love you, KP Baa' is today saying 'Put the murderer, KP Oli, in jail."

She further said, "How arrogant and cruel can a ruler be? The blood of the youth is yet to get justice, but how can you still speak with arrogance on your face? The people will not always be fooled. Nakkhu is waiting for you, KP Oli. #ArrestKPOli #ArrestMurderers."

Another Gen Z leader, Amit Khanal, aka Urjaa Amit, wrote, "Khadga Prasad, who played Holi with the blood of youth and students, has once again made it clear from today's statement that he has no chance of improving. Just as a rabid dog bites everyone if not controlled, Khadga Prasad is a rabid leader in Nepali politics who has neither patriotism nor compassion for the people."

He stated that his politics has become a game of blood, not of ideas, and he has swallowed the hopes of the youth and the trust of the people in his greed for his own selfishness. "Khadga Prasad is no longer an ordinary leader; he is a political cannibal who, in his lust for power, is chewing the bones of his own organisation and tearing the flesh of his ideals," he wrote in his post. "If this disease is not treated in time, this infection will continue to spread, and selfish, bloodthirsty leaders like him will bite the future of the people. #arrestkpoli."
