HBC FM staffers’ stance

Kathmandu, August 9:

A meeting of employees of the HBC FM held at the office premises at Tinchule, Bouddha, today decided to demand a commitment from the chairman to abide by the recently-promulgated Working Journalist Act.

The employees, including members of the Republican Radio Workers Forum (RRWF), have decided to find ways to solve the problems only after the chairman of the FM station, TG Shrestha, gives in writing a commitment to implement the Act.

Production manager Achyut Ghimire said the staffers have decided to write to the chairman seeking the commitment.

He said the RRWF has postponed all protest plans except for the lockout at the administration following the meeting.
