I was exercising a right: Thapa

Kathmandu, July 31:

The Office of the Kathmandu District Government Attorney today interrogated detained former general secretary of the Nepal Students Union, Gagan Thapa, for his involvement in Offence against the State. According to an official, he was produced at the office for interrogation. The official added that during interrogation, Thapa said that he had not committed any offence against the state and that he was just exercising his freedom to movement when he participated in the rally. Thapa was arrested on Thursday for chanting anti-monarchy slogans during a rally organised by members of the civil society last Monday.

The Special Court ordered the police to detain him for seven days.
