KATHMANDU: Police in Kathmandu arrested a person for possessing illegal pharmaceutical drugs from a passenger bus en route to Kathmandu, at Naagdhunga, Chandragiri Municipality-3 on Wednesday.

The arrestee has been identified as Rakesh Singh (18) of Lahan Municipality-2, in Siraha district.

The security personnel seized various illegal drugs during the search operation carried out in the passenger bus (Na 6 Kha 3190) en route from Biratnagar to Kathmandu today, according to police.

Police seized 51 bottles, each with the capacity of 100 ampoules, filled with hashish; 180 tablets of nitrosun, 600 tablets of nitrazepam, 200 ampoules of phenergan and 400 ampoules of other pharmaceutical drugs, from the luggage belonging to Singh.

Meanwhile, police are investigating into the case.
