57 govt staffers absent:

KATHMANDU: Fifty-seven employees were found absent at the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, and the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies, during a surprise check conducted at 9.15 am on Tuesday by the the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) and the Council of Ministers. The absentees were 15 gazetted officers and 25 non-gazetted employees at the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, and 10 officers and seven non-gazetted employees of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies, according to the PMO. The secretaries of the ministries concerned have been already been notified for taking necessary action against the absentees, the office has informed.— RSS

KU, TU results out:

KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu University (KU) School of Science/Engineering has published the results of BE Electrical and Electronics, BE Mechanical and BE Computer Engineering first year first semester examinations. It has also published and the results of B Sc Environmental Science, B Sc Computer Science, B Pharmacy and B Tech Biotechnology first year first semester examinations. Meanwhile, the Tribhuvan University (TU) Institute of Engineering has published the results of diploma-level Electronics Engineering first year, second part regular and re-examinations and diploma-level Computer Engineering first year, second part regular and re-examinations (except that of Janakpur Engineering College) held last October. — RSS

Ambulance service begins:

BHAKTAPUR: Bhaktapur hospital, one of the oldest hospitals in the nation, has started an ambulance service from Monday. According to the hospital staff, the ambulance was donated to the hospital by a South Korean organisation. — RSS
