Tributes paid to martyrs’:
Kathmandu: PM Sher Bahadur Deuba offered floral tributes at the martyrs’ monument at Shahid Gate on Saturday to mark the Martyrs’ Day. This was followed by salutes from the Royal Nepalese Army band. A rally went through Ratna Park and ended at the Martyrs’ Memorial, Lainchaur. Deputy prime minister, ministers, chief justice, speaker, high-level government officials, and others participated in the programme. Martyr Dasharath Chand Memorial Trust organised a programme to pay its respects and offered floral tributes to the statue of martyr Dasharath Chand at Dasharath Stadium.— HNS
Street children vaccinated:
KATHMANDU: Twenty-one street children in and around Durbar Marg and Jamal were given Hepatitis B vaccination by the Sahara Group on Saturday as part of a programme aiming to vaccinate 250 street children of the capital. The programme is supported by the embassy of Australia. — HNS
