Drug peddler nabbed:

Kathmandu: The police on Monday arrested John Jobi Mbella, a Cameroonian, from the TIA for involvement in hashish trafficking. On December 30, the police had confiscated a briefcase containing 6 kg of hashish. The police established that the briefcase belonged to Mbella, who was absconding, and was about to leave for Bangkok on Monday. —HNS

Public Interest Litigations :

Kathmandu: A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) was filed on Monday at the SC seeking its order to government authorities to withdraw the decision to hike fare of public vehicles. Advocate Jyoti Baniya filed the litigation. Another PIL was filed at the Patan Appellate Court on Monday seeking its mandamus order to the Kathmandu Metropolitan and Lalitpur Sub-Metropolitan cities to fill potholes and maintain Valley roads. Advocates Bharatmani Gautam, Shankar Prasad Pudasaini and Ganesh Niraula jointly filed the case against local bodies. —HNS
