Murder suspect arrested
Kathmandu: Police arrested Bikas Tuladhar, a resident of KMC -22, Dharmapath, on suspicion of killing his brother. Bikas had severely beaten up his own brother on Sunday night who died at Bir Hospital on Wednesday while undergoing treatment. — HNS
Gang attacks one
Kathmandu: Navaraj Ghale (18), a resident of Kapan VDC-3, was severely injured when a gang of five attacked him on Wednesday with a sharp weapon at Sukedhara. He has sustained injuries on his belly and head. He was taken to Teaching Hospital where he is undergoing treatment. — HNS
Water shortage workshop
Kathmandu: The mayors and sanitation chief officers from all 58 municipalities including political leaders, engineers, professionals and government officials are meeting for a three-day seminar and consultation workshop on decentralised water and simple techniques of waste water management. They will discuss the various aspects of shortage of drinking water and remedies from March 14 to 16. — HNS
ML’s plea to free cadres
KATHMANDU: CPN-ML has urged the Maoists to release its activists and not to repeat such incidents. A release issued on Thursday states that a gang of Maoists kidnapped the district committee member of Progressive Youth Association Tekbahadur Bista and his father from Keroun of Morang district on February 29 and Santosh Bogati from Kamal Bazar of Achham. — RSS
