Aryal quits NBA panel

Kathmandu: Senior advocate Shreehari Aryal on Wednesday tendered his resignation as the coordinator of Supreme Court Verdict Study and Investigation Mechanism of the Nepal Bar Association (NBA). “I don’t like political intervention in the judiciary,” Aryal said. He submitted his resignation to general secretary of the NBA Raman Kumar Shrestha. — HNS

Lull in SC, NHRC

Kathmandu: No complaints were registered with Supreme Court (SC) and National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) during Dashain holiday. Though a habeas corpus petition was registered in the SC, not a single complaint was filed with the NHRC during the period. “We didn’t get any complaint,” said SC assistant spokesperson Hemanta Rawal. — HNS
