Tibetans halt prayers

KATHMANDU: Keeping in view the Constituent Assembly polls, Tibetan refugees have decided to shelve their ‘mass prayers’. Starting Monday, the prayers will be suspended for some days, the Nepal Tibet Solidarity Committee said in a press release. “The Tibetans are being denied the freedom of expression. Keeping in mind the importance of our host country Nepal’s historic polls, we request all those, who have been voluntarily organising peaceful demonstrations, to refrain from carrying out any activity that may create inconvenience to the people and the government of Nepal during the election period.” — HNS
