One held with heroin

KATHMANDU: A team of police from the Narcotics Drug Control Law Enforcement Unit, New Baneshwor, arrested Niraj Panta of Parsa district on Friday along with 240 grams of heroin and a revolver. Police said that 33-year-old Panta was arrested from Durbarmarg in Kathmandu when he was going to meet his customers on a motorcycle. According to the police, two live bullets and two laptop computers were also seized and the motorcyle was impounded. During the police interrogation, Panta confessed that he brought one kg heroin from India every month and sold it in the Kathmandu Valley. — HNS
