Thapa’s poll take

KATHMANDU: President of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal (RPP-N) Kamal Thapa said on Monday that his party is contesting the constituent assembly election with the slogan “Nationality, Democracy and Liberalism’’. Thapa, however, said his party was finding it difficult to go to the people because of politics of exclusion adopted by seven parties. Thapa is contesting the election from Kathmandu-5. At a poll rally organised by his party here, Thapa said the election will not be successful because of the “politics of exclusion”. — RSS

Blood donation

KATHMANDU: Over 300 people donated blood at a programme organised here on Monday to mark the 10th anniversary of Nepal Trans-Himalayan Trade Association. The Association said it has been organising blood donation programme every year to mark its anniversary. — RSS

Professors’ call

BHAKTAPUR: Professors here on Monday stressed on the need for their active role in successfully holding the Constituent Assembly election. Speaking at a programme at Bhaktapur Multiple Campus, former president of TU Teachers’ Association Prof Shiva Prasad Munakarmi called on all professors to be united to make the CA polls a success. Former campus chiefs Mahendra Raj Sainju and Dayaman Karmacharya stressed on the need to create opinions in favour of democratic candidates. — RSS

Book released

KATHMANDU: The Simhabahini Alumni Association on Sunday released a commemorative book on late Narayan Man Shrestha, the founder and the first principal of the Simhabahini High School in Myanglung of Terhathum. The book contains 64 different articles penned by renowned litterateurs, writers, social workers and the members of the Shrestha family and pictures related to the late Shrestha. Shrestha was born in 1983 BS in Terhathum and contributed to the development of education sector in the district before he died in 2038 BS. — RSS
