Contractor abducted

KATHMANDU: A group of four masked men and two women on Saturday night abducted one Dipak Bhandari, 47, from Shankhamul, Kathmandu. Bhandari, a contractor by profession and a permanent resident of Dadeldhura, was abducted from his house, neighbours said. — RSS

NGO body formed

LALITPUR: The 13th annual general meeting of the Nepal Participatory Action Network, an NGO, has formed a 13-member executive committee headed by Tejraj Dahal. DR Shrestha is the treasurer, while members include Purna Chemjong and Bramha-dhwoj Gurung, among others. — RSS

Engineers’ group

KATHMANDU: The Republican Engineers’ Group on Sunday made public its various commitments, including a provision of at least one engineer in each VDC. At a press meet, Dr Laxmi Prasad Devkota, an aspirant for the post of chairman of the Nepal Engineers’ Association, said his group would lobby for the establishment of an Engineering University. — RSS
