Minister’s inspection

LALITPUR: Minister for Agriculture and Cooperatives and Chairperson of National Agriculture Research Council (NARC) Badri Prasad Mandal on Sunday inspected the research activities on horticulture, floriculture, animal science and fishery undergoing at the NARC research centre at Khumaltar, Lalitpur. Minister Mandal was apprised of the research activities undertaken by the Council, the National Agriculture Research Academy and National Animal Science Research Academy by the Executive Director and Directors. — RSS

Gender equity policy

KATHMANDU: Minister for Women, Children and Social Welfare, Durga Shrestha, on Thursday said the government has proposed a positive gender equity policy to give women access to decision-making at the the first general assembly of the Forum for Youth Awareness about Environment, Women’s Department. Assistant Minister for Health and Population, Nicchya SJB Rana, noted the country has lagged in all sectors as women and youth force have not been utilised properly. — RSS

16 complaints filed

KATHMANDU: The newly established Grievance Hearing Cell at Nepal Rastra Bank has so far received 16 complaints. The Unit was established with the objective of resolving the disputes arising in connection with the transaction between Banks and Creditors. According to the Bank, the complaints registered at the Cell so far includes 12 related to the Nepal Bank Limited, four concerning Rastriya Banijya Bank and one relating to Machapuchhre Bank. — RSS
