NSU veep arrested

Kathmandu: Police arrested Pradip Poudel, the vice-president of Nepal Students Union and Dharma Khanal, a student activist from near the residence of Nepali Congress president Girija Prasad Koirala at Maharajgunj at around 8.30 am on Monday. According to Nepal Student Union, plainclothes police personnel arrested the students who were returning after meeting Koirala. The students are kept at the Kamalpokhari Ward Police Station. Various student unions affiliated to different political parties have been preparing for a protest programme scheduled for April 8. — HNS

Twin quakes recorded

KATHMANDU: Two quakes, each measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale, were recorded on Monday morning, the National Quake Measurement Centre stated, adding that the epicentre of the quakes was located in Myagdi district. — RSS

MADHYAPUR THIMI: Litterateur and culture expert Tejeshwor Babu Gwang released Spandan, the annual souvenir of the Chankhu Prakas group, Dadhikot, on Sunday.
