KATHMANDU, MARCH 10

Supreme Court Justice Sapana Pradhan Malla has said that justice cannot be delivered under fear or intimidation.

Speaking at a programme organized by the Supreme Court of Nepal on the occasion of International Women's Day and International Women Judges' Day today, Justice Malla said that good governance is the essence of the judiciary, and that it can be ensured only through judicial independence, impartiality, and fearlessness.

Justice Malla stated that judicial independence cannot be compromised under any circumstances, as the Constitution envisions an independent judiciary.

She further said that the nation can progress only when women move forward, adding that gaps still persist in the political, economic, and social sectors, which makes the celebration of Women's Day necessary.

Saranga Subedi emphasized that women should work productively while believing in each other's abilities, noting that women still have to prove themselves at every step.

Sabita Bhandari Baral said that women should strengthen their leadership capacity and actively contribute to the promotion of justice, equality, participation, and inclusiveness.

Similarly, Nepal Bar Association Vice President Saraswati Shrestha said that women's empowerment and participation remain crucial.
