Kamal Thapa hails Oli as good PM, says no regrets working with him

KATHMANDU: Rastriya Prajantra Party-Nepal's Chairman Kamal Thapa, a Deputy Prime Minister in the outgoing coalition government, has hailed KP Sharma Oli as a good Prime Minister who loved the country.

After Prime Minister Oli announced his resignation at the Parliament, a senior member of his cabinet, Thapa wrote on Twitter that he was happy that he got to work with Oli. "No regrets," he added.

"KP Sharma Oli will be remembered as good Prime Minister who loved the country. I am happy that I got to work with you," his post in Nepali reads.

The RPP-Nepal is the fourth largest party in the Parliament with 25 lawmakers.

Thapa's party had decided to back the Prime Minister till the last moment, while two other partners --Madhesi Janadhikar Forum-Democratic and Rastriya Prajantantra Party -- pulled out the government yesterday after seeing the no-confidence motion against the Prime Minister was almost certain to pass.
