KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 31
The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has collected NPR 1.17 billion in revenue in the past two months, which is nearly NPR 230 million more than the corresponding period of the last fiscal year.
In the previous year's review period, the KMC had collected NPR 934.1 million in revenue.
Chief of the Revenue Department of KMC, Dhruba Kafle, mentioned that they received a significant amount of revenue that had been pending for a long time, especially after its ward offices started collecting revenue.
The number of taxpayers has also increased since all 32 wards began offering tax collection services. It is noted that the number of taxpayers paying property tax and house rent has seen a sharp increase.
The KMC collects taxes under nine different headings, including property tax, house rent tax, entertainment tax, advertisement tax, and others.
The KMC has set a target to collect NPR 10.41 billion in revenue for this fiscal year.
