KATHMANDU, AUGUST 29
The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) has dispatched a new Korea Overseas Volunteer (KOV), Nanhi Kim, to Shree Buddha Secondary School, Badegaun, Lalitpur. Kim arrived in Kathmandu on July 25, and completed a one-month local adaptation training on August 28 before joining her host school.
The training, held at KOICA Nepal Office, familiarized her with NepalI society, culture, and language to help her integrate effectively. She will serve at the school for one year in the Social Welfare sector.
The KOV program, running in Nepal since 1990, aims to transfer Korean knowledge at the grassroots level, strengthen bilateral ties, and contribute to local development. To date, 493 KOICA volunteers have served across Nepal, with 10 currently active in various districts including Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Baglung, Kaski, Ilam, and Kailali.
