Lalitpur, April 13:

Demonstrators today vandalised and set fire to the office building of Lalitpur Metropolitan City ward number 22 at Kumbeshwor. The Lalitpur mayor’s house is located in the area.

“Demonstrators led by Hari Krishna Byanjankar, secretary of the CPN-UML Town Committee, first broke open the lock of the building and then began smashing window panes,” said an eyewitness, Sunil Maharjan, adding, “The demonstrators then burnt documents.”

LMC mayor Prem Lal Maharjan told this daily, “Destroying public property and violating laws and regulations are not part of a peaceful movement.”
