Load-shedding begins

Kathmandu, December 4:

The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), with effect from today, began the enforcement of a nationwide load-shedding regime.

Load-shedding will take effect from 5 pm to 7:30 pm in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Sindhupalchowk and Kavre, the NEA said.

Power cut will occur in Mangal Bazaar and Pulchowk of Lalitpur, Tripureshwor, Baneshwor, Bagmati, Koteshwor, Airport, Jorpati, Sankhu, Lazimpat, Tahachal, Thapathali, Kamaladi, Bansbari and Khichapokhari from 5 pm to 7:30 pm every Sunday.

It will occur in Imadol, Byasi, Gothatar, Pharping, Thankot, Naya Bazaar, Maha Boudha, Budhanilkantha, Kalikasthan and Dhulikhel on Mondays.

Patan Bazaar, Godavari, Kalimati, Naxal, Om Hospital, Swoyambhu, Ason, Baluwatar, Sanga and Teen Piple and Palanchowk will face power cut on Tuesdays.

Load-shedding will occur in Patan Ring Road, Sanepa, Tahachal, New Airport, Dhobikhola, Danchhi, Keshar Mahal, Samakhusi, Tripureshwor, Sallaghari and Khawa on Wednesdays.

Saibu, Old Airport, Battisputali, Tangal, Sundarijal, King’s Way, Bishnumati, Kalanki, Gangabu, New Road, Anamnagar, Katunje, Nalin Chowk and Melamchi will see power cut on Thursdays.

Bhimsensthan, the Pashupati Temple area, Thamel, Radio Nepal, Dharmasthali, Bagbazaar, Nagarkot, Lubhu and Balkumari, Nala and Panchkhal will face power cuts every Friday.

Chapagaun, Jawa-lakhel, Kirtipur, Shank-hamool, Mahankal, Gairidhara, Balambu, Swoyambhu, Bhotebahal, Putalisadak, Thimi, Golfutar and Panauti will see power cut every Saturday. Load-shedding has been slated from 5:15 pm to 7:45 pm in the east. mid and far-west will see 40-minute outages in evening.
