Maldivian Ambassador calls on President Bidya Bhandari

KATHMANDU: Maldivian Ambassador to Nepal Ahmed Saleem paid a courtesy call on President Bidya Devi Bhandari at the latter's office in Sheetal Niwas, on Tuesday.

Ambassador Saleem discussed diplomatic relationship between the two countries with President Bhandari during the meeting.

He also discussed issues of tourism, environment conservation, effects of climate change and ways to face it among others, the President’s Office said in a statement.

They also discussed the ways to strengthen relationship and maintain bilateral cooperation as the member nations of SAARC and United Nations in the future.

Saleem also handed over the letter to President Bhandari from the Maldivian President Abdulla Yameen wishing Nepal and Nepali people of progress and prosperity on the occasion of Constitution Day.
