Maoists to decide official view on local body restructuring
KATHMANDU: Top leaders of the ruling CPN Maoist Centre have said the party should determine its official view on local body restructuring soon.
Speaking at the party's Central Office meeting today, the leaders said the party should expedite discussions on the issue and form the official view soon, according to the Secretariat of the party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, who is also the Prime Minister.
The party has begun discussions on the issue today a couple of days after the ruling parties had decided to hold an all-party meeting to forge consensus on the disputes about local body restructuring.
Meanwhile, the party decided to hold a meeting of its General Convention Organising (Central) Committee in the Capital on August 27.
The meeting today, however, failed to finalise names of the leaders who would represent the party in the government led by own Chairman Dahal.
So far, Krishna Bahadur Mahara, Daljit Shreepaili and Gauri Shankar Chaudhary are ministers from the party in the Dahal-led Cabinet.
