KATHMANDU: A youth who was critically injured after a motorcycle he was riding on met with an accident in Suryabinayak Municipality-11 of Bhaktapur succumbed to injuries on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as the motorcycle rider Gopal Shrestha (21) of Ugratara Janagal in Kavre district.

The incident occurred after the motorcycle (Ba 73 Pa 9043) skidded on the unpaved terrain by the roadside and fell into a pit in Nalinchok at around 7:15 am yesterday, according to police. Shrestha inflicted serious injuries on his head.

He was rushed to the Thimi-based Madhyapur Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police assumed speeding of the two-wheeler as cause of the accident.
