Murder accused cop held in Delhi

Kathmandu, April 11:

The Indian Police arrested head constable of the Armed Police Force (APF) Rajendra Oli in New Delhi and handed him over to the Nepal Police on Monday, police sources said today.

Oli was on the wanted list of the Nepal Police for a week and he had gone to the Indian capital to meet his brother-in-law. “The brother-in-law handed him over to the Indian Police and the Indian Police handed him to the Nepal Police,” the sources said.

The police were searching for Oli on charge of murdering his daughters — Rekha and Uma — on March 29. He has also been charged with attempting to murder his first wife on the same day. “Oli took his first wife and two daughters to Syuchatar in the name of searching for an apartment,” police said. His first wife had arrived in the capital on the same day from Oli’s home in Bardiya. Without his first wife’s consent, Oli had married an APF constable Sangita Shrestha.
