A total of 6,799 disaster-related incidents were recorded across the country over the past 11 months, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority.

The incidents resulted in 464 deaths, 38 people missing and 1,814 injuries, while 12,458 households were affected during the period.

According to the authority, fires accounted for the highest number of incidents, with 3,339 fire cases causing 98 deaths.

Other reported disasters included 318 floods, 590 landslides, 429 heavy rainfall incidents, 367 lightning strikes, 592 snakebite cases, and 246 wildfires.

Similarly, authorities recorded 292 windstorms, 488 wild animal attacks and 119 additional landslide incidents, along with five avalanches, seven earthquakes and two boat capsizing incidents during the period.
