NC CWC meeting to take place today

KATHMANDU: The central working committee meeting of the Nepali Congress party is taking place today after the federal and provincial parliamentary elections.

The meeting is to convene at the Prime Minister's residence in Baluwatar this morning to discuss matters relating to the party's preparation for National Assembly elections and candidates selection process, NC Spokesperson Biswo Prakash Sharma was quoted as saying in Rastriya Samachar Samiti.

The central committee meeting is taking place for the first time after the parliamentary elections after mounting internal pressure to call the meeting or Mahasamiti meeting following the unexpected election results.

The meeting would be more focused on the NA elections although the party members are expecting the meeting to review the party's defeat in parliamentary elections.

Another meeting will be called soon to mainly review the parliamentary elections, Sharma informed.
