NC leadership suggested for theory-based policy, pragmatic programme

KATHMANDU: Former lawmakers of Nepali Congress have asked the NC leadership to come clear by adopting theory-based policy and pragmatic programmes for implementation to regain the party's lost strength.

Speaking at a programme organised in the Capital today, former lawmaker Homnath Dahal presented a paper on NC revival. “Internal mismanagement, non-performance, oppositions' unity and attack on NC as well as the displeasure of people during the NC-led government were the major reasons for NC's defeat in the polls.”

Likewise, former lawmaker of the party Omkar Prasad Shrestha asked NC leaders not to trade barbs rather to move ahead by correcting the past mistakes in organisation, working style and statute.

Similarly, NC leader Bipin Koirala said that their failure to grasp the nationalist wave spread across the globe was the main reason for the party's defeat.

Also speaking at the programme, NC leader Deep Kumar Upadhyay claimed that revival of the NC is still possible as the party's popular vote has not decreased.

Another former NC lawmaker Tarani Dutt Chataut said that this was not the time to worry in NC's defeat while analysing other parties' votes.
