KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 15
Nepali Congress' parliamentary party meeting has commenced, today.
The meeting that is being convened at the Federal Parliament premises will discuss current issues including the impeachment motion filed against Supreme Court's now-suspended Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana and the confusion around ratification of Millennium Challenge Corporation.
As many as 98 lawmakers from the ruling-coalition had signed the impeachment proposal against Rana on Sunday.
Today's PP meeting will be briefed by party president and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba. He issues scheduled to talk on the course the party lawmakers should take in light of the recent political developments.
Further political polarisation has been noted after the impeachment proposal, wherein the main opposition party CPN-UML has been threatening to file a counter motion proposing the impeachment of four SC justices.
Several political meetings have been called by the parties, including an all-party meet summoned by the House Speaker on Monday which was boycotted by the UML.
