Nepali Congress (NC) has summoned an emergency meeting of the party's central committee for today.

The meeting to be convened at 11:30 am at the party central office in Sanepa, Lalitpur is expected to pass a condolence motion on the demise of party central member and former minister Nabindra Raj Joshi, who passed away on Friday night.

According to a party source, Joshi's mortal remains will be kept at the central office from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm today for final tributes.

Joshi, who was in a critical condition, was getting treatment at Norvic International Hospital after he suffered brain hemorrhage a month ago.

He had won the 2013 second Constituent Assembly elections from Kathmandu Constituency 8.
