KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 07
Nepal's premier folk-rock band, Nepathya, enthralled audience with its trademark folk-rock music at the Al Nasr Leisureland in Dubai on Sunday.
Unlike it's previous concerts, the band kicked-off the Dubai show with a dancing number 'Ho Rama Rama Ho', making the crowd dance to their tune from the beginning.
Audience from all walks of life went frenzy as the band performed their ever-green songs 'Lampate Surati', 'Chari maryo', 'Yo Jindagini', 'Taal Ko Pani,' 'Resham' among others.
The band's lead singer and social activist Amrit Gurung said, "Even though the country has undergone through major political changes in recent times , people are yet to experience the change," he expressed optimism the nation would one day pave the way forward for prosperity and development if Nepalis living abroad return home to join for the same.
As usual, Amrit Gurung was accompanied on stage by Dhruba Lama on drums, Suraj Thapa on keyboards, Subin Shakya on bass, Niraj Gurung on guitars and Shanti Rayamajhi on madal.
The band will return home on Wednesday. All photo courtesy: Kiran Rai/Nepalaya
