Nitish Kumar busy in meetings with leaders

KATHMANDU: Nitish Kumar, Chief Minister of Bihar state of India, is in Kathmandu and busy in meetings with political leaders here.

The Indian leader is in the Capital to attend the inauguration of the 13th national general convention of Nepali Congress scheduled for Thursday.

After his arrival in Kathmandu this afternoon, the Janata Dal United leader held separate meetings with President Bidya Devi Bhandari, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and UCPN-Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal.

According to a statement issued by the President's Office, the duo discussed various dimensions of bilateral relations between two nations.

Meanwhile, the Indian leader expressed concerns over political developments in Nepal after promulgation of the Constitution including the Madhes agitation in talks with Dahal, according to Dahal's secretariat.

Likewise, the two leaders agreed that open border-related problems between Nepal and India should be resolved together, the Secretariat said after the meeting.

The duo had held talks for around 45 minutes.

JDU leader KC Tyagi, Indian Ambassador to Nepal Ranjit Rae and senior officials of the Kathmandu-based Indian Embassy were present during the meetings.
