No one abducted me, Anandidevi tells SC

Kathmandu, May 25:

Anandidevi Singh, the president of Nepal Sadbhawana Party (Anandidevi) today told the Supreme Court that nobody had abducted her.

“I have been living with my relatives and no one has abducted me,” Anandidevi, who came to the court with Minister of Industry, Commerce and Supplies Shyam Sundar Gupta, told the apex court in writing.

The SC on Friday had issued a three-day show cause notice to Minister Gupta asking why he was not letting go Anandidevi.

Tejkanta Jha and Sarita Giri treasurer and spokesperson for the party had jointly filed a petition seeking the apex court’s intervention to release Anandidevi.

The duo had claimed that Minister Gupta had abducted Anandidevi and kept her under his control.

The petitioners had charged Gupta and Yashwant Singh of abducting her. Gupta, in his reply, said he had not abducted Anandidevi and that there was no need for the SC to intervene.
