Kathmandu, June 6:

The Tribhuvan University Committee of the Nepal Students’ Union (NSU), submitting a memorandum to the principal of the Tribhuvan University Campus today, has warned that

‘decisive’ protests would be organised against the TU if it didn’t respect the agreements reached with the students’ bodies. Apart from accusing the TU of delaying the appointment of warden and other employees at the Kanti Girls’ Hostel, the memorandum says “there is a lack of facilities and services like telephones, electricity, drinking water in the hostels”. The students have also accused the TU of admitting students in the Iswori Kanya Girls’ Hostel by violating the rules and regulations and the agreements reached with students’ bodies. “The students’ bodies and the TU had agreed to raise the hostel fees after providing more facilities to the hosteliers, but the TU has raised the fees without holding consultations with the students’ bodies,” states a press release issued here today.
