NWPP takes out victory rally in Bhaktapur
Bhaktapur, April 18:
The Nepal Workers’ and Peasants’ Party (NWPP) today organised a victory rally in Bhaktapur after they won two constituencies in Bhaktapur.
The rally started from the NWPP’s party office in Golmadi and went around Sukul Dhoka, Taumadi, Dudhpati, Durbar Square, Mul Dhoka, Kamalbinayak and cornered at the party office. Number of groups with traditional musical instruments had participated in the rally. Thousands of people were also seen in the rally in their traditional dresses.
Addressing the mass meet, Narayan Man Bijukchhe, president of NWPP and the winner of Constituency No 1 in Bhaktapur, said that his party would not join the new government, but would support the government in its good deeds and protest its wrong doings. He also said that the “Nepali Congress and CPN-UML should not join the new government but should rather give space to the new party having majority of seats in CA”. “The government should be made by the party holding the highest number of seats in the CA because this is democracy,” he said.
“The NC and CPN-UML should stay as opposition party as this will avoid power-sharing within the government,” he said, adding: “This makes the government more stable and strengthens democracy.” He also stressed on the need to act according to the party’s manifesto. “If the party fails to act according to their manifesto, the Nepalese citizens would punish them,” he said.
Sunil Prajapati from NWPP, winner of Constituency No 2 in Bhaktapur, assured the locals that his party would act according to its manifesto. “My party would always struggle for free education, free health service and employment as well,” he said.
