Nepal Police have arrested a foreign national with 3.4 kilograms of cocaine from Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), Kathmandu.
According to a press release issued by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Koteshwor on Saturday, a police team deployed at the bureau's airport branch apprehended 41-year-old Indian national Abdus Samad Jamal Mansuri, a resident of Mumbai, Maharashtra, during a security check on July 9.
Mansuri had arrived in Kathmandu via Qatar Airways from Azerbaijan. Based on criminal profiling procedures during passenger screening, the police detained him around 4:00pm from the arrival parking area of the airport.
A search of his luggage revealed 3.4 kg of cocaine concealed inside his bag.
Police have initiated further investigation against the suspect under the Narcotic Drugs (Control) Act, 1976.
